• A WorldWeb.com Travel Guide to Streets, Avenues & Boulevards in Long Beach, NY, New York.
The Long Beach Boardwalk was built in 1914, with the help of elephants from Coney Island's amusement park, and remains one of the city's most popular attractions. The boardwalk runs for almost 2.5 mi (4 km) along the beach and the Atlantic Ocean, and is lighted for year round, day and night use. Strollers, joggers and cyclists all frequently use the boardwalk and there is a dedicated bicycle lane for the latter group.
